Peter's Birthday!

It's Peter's birthday today!!! I'm in his office at church working on Korean School stuff preparing for this Saturday's class while he's in a meeting with the other pastors in a different room. My mum provides breakfast for them during their Tuesday morning meetings (as she's part of the pastoral staff and she's like head mum) and usually takes bagels or sandwiches but took homemade rice, curry and kimchi today as it's Peter's birthday! My dad asked her to take seaweed soup & rice which is what we traditionally have for breakfast on birthdays but she didn't have any so we've had to make do with curry instead for his birthday breakfast - yummy!

I haven't bought anything for Peter for his birthday which I feel really bad about. He did say that he didn't want anything (just me :)) but I still I wish I had the time to get him something. I've organised dinner for tonight though with us two, my mum, and his parents so that'll be nice!

Wedding plans keep on changing... The latest thing was to not do the Korean ceremony bit as some people feel that Peter & I will be too tired & busy that day to do it and that we should do it in Korea when we go on our honeymoon + Peter's & my traditional Korean outfits are worth about $20,000 and dad will have to bring it from Korea with him so even though we'll be borrowing not buying, it's still very risky and cumbersome! However, doing it in Korea didn't make much sense because the ceremony that we're going to perform is an "introduction" where we'll be bowing (face flat on the floor!) to both sides of the family but focusing on Peter's as I'll be "leaving" my family and "joining" his. Most of Peter's family & relatives are here in this area so it'd be pointless doing it in Korea + we want all of you / Peter's friends / Youth kids to be able to join us and experience it with us! So it's definitely back on - phew!

I'm having my Lasik procedure done tomorrow - eek! We've researched it and I think we're going for the best, safest, most cost-effective, risk free option possible. Apparently I'll experience some haziness for the first 24 hours or so and dryness for about 3-6 months but I'll be liberated from glasses / contact lenses forever! :)

I want to try and get so much done today before I get my procedure done tomorrow!!!

Thank you for the emails you've been sending me. I have a big smile on my face every time I see one of your names in my Inbox and as I'm reading your emails.

Miss you all so much!!!
